"Incredible" is what we hear most often as people caress the display pieces in our showrooms.  This is because we’ve perfected the process in finishing our furniture, blending old world craftsmanship with technologically advanced finishes, so your piece will maintain a lasting beauty.  It takes several days to complete the Dovetail finish and this methodology and attention to detail reveals the inner beauty of the wood and protects it for generations to come.

Conversion Varnish for Added Protection
Our standard finish is an oil and conversion varnish finish.  A mixture of boiled linseed oil and urethane varnish deeply penetrates the wood, enhancing the natural beauty of the grain and color.  This gives the furniture a low level of luster leaving a natural look.  The varnish sealer and top coat is applied using a HVLP (High Volume Low Pressure) spray gun.  The advantage of the varnish finish is added durability, particularly for pieces which will experience hard use, and ease of maintenance.  Clean up simply by wiping with a damp cloth.  No waxes or polishes are necessary.

Natural Oil and Wax Finish
A natural oil and wax finish is available for a 5% up charge.  A mixture of boiled linseed oil and urethane varnish deeply penetrates the wood, enhancing the natural beauty of the grain and color.  The finish is wet-sanded to ensure smooth texture and uniformity.  Top pieces receive an additional coat of oil.  The final step includes both buffing and adding a coat of paste wax for added protection.  The natural oil finish is very easy to maintain.  To clean, simply wipe with a damp cloth and wax every 3-6 months with ordinary furniture paste wax.  It’s easily repaired if necessary.  Markings in the wax can be buffed out with fine steel wool.

Stain and Conversion Varnish Finish
We offer three standard stains – Autumn, Caramel and Walnut.  The stain is hand rubbed into the pores of the wood for depth and clarity.  Then the conversion varnish sealer and top-coat is applied on all stain finishes.  In addition, we can custom stain to your specifications or match an existing piece.  Examples of stains on our wood varieties are available to view at our showrooms.
