Emory University Candler Library
We are proud to announce Dovetail’s largest project to date. Emory University recently awarded Dovetail the millwork for their Candler Library addition and period restoration. We are producing and installing all the millwork, shelving, display cases, service desk, security desks, e-mail stations, study carrels, library tables and chairs, and occasional tables. It is going to be a spectacular transformation. The job is built in Rift sawn Red Oak to restore the library to it’s original grandeur.
Designed in 1926 by noted library architect Edward Tilton as Emory University’s first separate library building, the Asa Griggs Candler Library was for decades the center of the University’s academic and intellectual community. The mission of Candler Library Renovation and Expansion is to restore the architectural character of Candler Library as well as add much-needed office and classroom space near the heart of campus.
