From furnishings for its most distinguished professors to providing a first impression to its 60,000 visitors a year, Yale University has entrusted Dovetail with its most important furniture commissions.

In 2002, Glen Gregg Architects were hired to restore the Henry Koerner Center, Yale’s oldest building on campus and the home of their emeritus faculty. Dovetail was subsequently hired to provide the level of distinction that the building and their august professors deserved. The design challenge articulated by the architect and Yale was to provide Yale furniture with a distinctive design that bridges the gap between the building’s Arts and Crafts style interior and today’s productivity-driven work environments.

Through collaboration between the architect, Yale and Dovetail, Dovetail delivered handcrafted desks, file cabinets, bookcases, conference room and administrative office furnishings. The furniture was constructed with time tested joinery for longevity while maintaining modern ergonomic sensibilities. The architect, the University and the faculty are ecstatic with the results.
