Prices, design specifications, product availability and terms and conditions of sale and delivery charges are subject to change without notice.
We require 50% non-refundable deposit with your order. The balance is required prior to delivery. We accept personal checks, American Express, Visa, Mastercard or Discover. We will send a written confirmation of order acceptance, estimated delivery time and balance due including packing, shipping & handling and applicable taxes. The balance on all credit card orders will be charged prior to delivery. As each piece of furniture is built to order, all sales are final.

Our furniture is handcrafted and built specifically for each customer’s order. Standard lead-times are 6 to 8 weeks from order approval date. Lead-times may be 2-4 weeks longer for custom work. Please allow 5-10 days for delivery.
The final delivery of your order is an anticipated event and your delivery is no exception. Your furniture is crafted with pride and its delivery should reflect those same standards. Our delivery charge is 10% of the order and we use Clark & Reid’s furniture transport services to ensure the highest quality of white-glove in-home furniture delivery. Each item is blanket-wrapped, packaged and transported in air-ride suspension vans. Clark & Reid’s two-man teams ensure proper placement in your home per your specifications, performing assembly as required, and will educate you on the proper care of your new furniture per your requirements. Clark & Reid has over a century of household goods moving experience. Please allow 5-10 days for delivery.
Pick up is available at our Holden location free of charge or in Newton Lower Falls for $75.
Dovetail is not liable for failure to ship by the acknowledged shipping date or any other date. Dovetail is not liable for a delay or failure in shipment or performance if the delay or failure is caused by acts or omission of Customer, its agents, employees, contractors, a governmental authority, or God; delays in transportation; or other similar causes that are not within Dovetail’s reasonable control. Dovetail is excused from further performance of its obligations for the duration of a force majeure cause.
If Customer cannot accept delivery when products are ready, Dovetail reserves the right to transfer products to storage and products are invoiced at that time. Customer is responsible for actual storage charges and any other expenses relating to the storage of products or materials that Dovetail incurs. Customer bears all risk of loss for products or materials in storage.
A $300 non-refundable design services deposit is required depending on the scope of the project, which is credited to the purchase. This includes 5 hours of design time. Additional design time will be charged at $75 per hour. A $500 non non-refundable design services deposit is required for design services which includes a site visit, which is credited to the purchase. Due to the extra engineering involved in custom pieces lead times can be 2-4 weeks longer than standard pieces.
If you would like a personal inscription on a piece, we can attach an engraved brass plaque for $25.
Give a gift of permanence through a “Dovetail Gift Certificate”. A Dovetail gift certificate is appropriate for any occasion and always pleases. Give a gift of lasting beauty.
We appreciate your business, and for all of us to be happy and for a smooth delivery day please be make sure that the pieces you order will fit into your home. This means furniture must fit through all doors, hallways, stairways and or elevators.

Type of Wood
All pricing is based on Cherry, our standard wood. Maple, Ash or White Oak are also available at no additional charge. Other woods are available with an upcharge: Mahogany or Walnut is 20%; Birds Eye Maple, Curly Maple and many other woods and exotic woods are also available – quoted on an individual basis.
Adding Decorative Detail
We can mix wood species (such as maple and cherry) or add highly figured woods (such as Curly or Bird’s Eye Maple or Burled Walnut or Curly Cherry) to provide accent or decorative detail to any piece. Table skirts, drawer faces or door panels can typically be done in a complementary or highly figured wood at modest additional cost to the piece. Ask for details and examples. Many choices are included in the pricing guide. Please indicate any special requests for graining.
We offer a selection of the finest quality fabrics from Robert Allen, Knoll, Duralee and Kravet. If you prefer leather we offer a wide variety of textures and colors in the finest grades of leathers. You can also choose to supply your own fabric. If an order includes Customer-supplied materials, Customer must ship those materials to Dovetail at Customer’s own expense. The materials must be tagged with Customer’s name, and Dovetails purchase order number. Dovetail is not liable for inadequacies in Customer’s materials. Dovetail will notify Customer of any apparent defects in Customer’s materials before manufacturing. Please allow four weeks from receipt of materials for order completion.
